Our dedication to treating the whole person, body, spirit and mind, sets us apart from the rest and helps us focus on what we do best — providing you with the education, tools and skills necessary to live a happier, healthier life in recovery.

We treat adults 18 years of age and older.

Substance Use Program

At The Canyon at Santa Monica, we know that integrated, lasting healing takes place when all of the problems a person faces are treated at the same time. With integrated treatment, our treatment team can address mental and substance use disorders at the same time, often lowering costs and creating better outcomes. Our science-based dual diagnosis approach allows us to provide this integrated care.

We address addiction and mental health issues simultaneously. This uncovers underlying issues such as trauma and deep-rooted emotional pain. These serious mental health concerns contribute to substance abuse issues which can lead to relapse if not addressed. Our dedicated team will help you build a foundation for sustainable, long-term recovery, while paving the way to rediscover joy and health in your everyday life.

Professionals Program

Like any serious health problem, depression and addiction require professional help. But it can be harder to get help when you’re facing the demands of working long hours, managing a career or running an organization.

If you are a working professional dealing with substance abuse or a mental health condition, you can get help from a proven program designed to suit your unique needs. The Canyon at Santa Monica’s Professionals Program helps working professionals like you in a comfortable, supportive group setting so you can heal and return to work or school as soon as possible.

The goal of the program is to improve relationships, productivity and day-to-day activities so you may lead a healthy, well-balanced life.

Family Support Group

We know how much your family means to you, and we want them to be a part of your journey to recovery, too.

Group therapies can be extremely beneficial in the journey to recovery, as a support group at an outpatient treatment center can let clients know that they are not alone and that others have gone through what they are going through. Family groups take this and amplify it to help better understand you, as well as providing them (and you) with the education, skills and tools necessary to prepare everyone for your life in recovery. Your family should be a part of your journey, because they will be a part of your life journey.

Intensive Outpatient Program

When learning about The Canyon rehab center, one can expect to find a range of services and treatments.

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a part-time day treatment program that provides many of the same treatments and therapies as inpatient care with the added benefit of being for only a few hours a day for a few days each week.

Not to be confused with a residential treatment center, an IOP allows the most freedom for patients. Only a few hours a day for a few days per week, you will be able to attend treatment in the day or evening and return home to attend work, familial or community responsibilities after treatment.

Why Choose a Dual Diagnosis IOP Treatment Center?

We want you to start recovery and stay in recovery, and our focus on dual diagnosis treatment and co-occurring disorders gets to the root of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms – your mental health.

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the best treatment for substance abuse disorders coupled with mental health disorders is integrated intervention, or treating you for both a mental health disorder and a mental health disorder at the same time, rather than one at a time. Both issues must be addressed for you to be on a path to a happier, healthier life, and we provide the tools, education and skills necessary for you to achieve your treatment goals.
